Super Eagles: Lawal ruled out of Unity Cup with injury

Super Eagles Striker Salim Fago Lawal Out of Unity Cup
Salim Fago Lawal, striker for the Super Eagles, has been ruled out of the upcoming Unity Cup tournament, according to a report from DAILY POST.
The 23-year-old athlete sustained an injury during Viktoria Plzeň’s 2-0 victory over Bohemians Praha in March. His condition forced him to miss recent friendly matches against Iran and Jordan.
Czech regional newspaper Plzeňský deník reported that Lawal will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to setbacks in his recovery. He was previously part of the Super Eagles’ squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Unity Cup is scheduled to begin in Charlton on Tuesday, May 26, with Nigeria set to face Zimbabwe in the first semi-final match.
