Borno State, Nigeria — Troops engaged in Operation Hadin Kai apprehended a 20-year-old man on August 23, 2026, who is suspected of providing logistical support to terrorist groups in the region.
The individual, identified as Mohammed Alhaji, was taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. during a checkpoint operation at Mandaragirau. A military source indicated that his arrest was based on credible intelligence regarding potential suppliers and sympathizers operating within the vicinity.
Initial investigations revealed that Alhaji allegedly utilized a cargo motorcycle, registered with the number BBU-514VC, to deliver supplies to terrorist fighters and to transport casualties away from combat zones. He is also believed to have been involved in supporting activities following a recent attack on military personnel.
Following his arrest, Alhaji was transferred to the Army Provost Group for further investigation and appropriate legal action. The motorcycle linked to the suspect is currently in the custody of the 162 Amphibious Battalion.
This arrest is part of ongoing military efforts to dismantle supply and support networks that facilitate terrorist operations in the North-East.
