Security operatives successfully thwarted an attempted bandit attack on Rimaye town in the Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State late Wednesday night.
The incursion was prevented through a prompt response by soldiers from the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, who collaborated with the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (C-Watch) and local vigilantes.
A security analyst, known as Bakatsine, reported the incident on social media platform X, detailing how the armed group sought to invade the community but was compelled to retreat after encountering significant resistance from the combined security forces.
Bakatsine commended the coordinated efforts of the military and local security personnel, stating that their swift actions averted what could have been a tragic situation for the residents of Rimaye town.
