Flying Eagles Prepare for WAFU B U-20 Championship
Flying Eagles head coach Abdu Maikaba emphasized the need for hard work as his team prepares for the upcoming WAFU B U-20 Championship. According to DAILY POST, the tournament will serve as a qualifier for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
The competition will feature several teams, including hosts Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, and Niger Republic.
Maikaba expressed confidence in his team’s abilities but stressed that talent alone is insufficient for success. “To compete against some of West Africa’s youth teams, my players must combine their ability with discipline, hard work, and a winning mentality,” he stated on X.
The Flying Eagles have a successful history in this tournament, having won the last two editions. In the most recent final, they defeated Ghana 2-1 in Lomé, Togo, two years ago.
