Falconets Prepare for Key Qualifier Against Malawi
The head coach of Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national soccer team, Moses Aduku, confirmed that his squad is intensely preparing for an upcoming qualifier against Malawi, which is pivotal for securing a spot in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Aduku’s team has been training in Abuja for the past three weeks in anticipation of the matches. The Falconets will host Malawi in the first leg on Saturday, May 2, at a venue yet to be announced. The return leg is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, in Lilongwe, Malawi.
“We have a full squad on ground, and everyone is focused on the task at hand. From now, we will concentrate on team planning and tactical work,” Aduku said in a statement to thenff.com.
In the previous qualifying round, the Falconets advanced by defeating Senegal 3-1 on aggregate, while Malawi triumphed over Guinea Bissau with a total score of 6-2.
