EPL: ‘I like him’ – Ex-England goalkeeper, Shay Given hails Chukwueze

LONDON — Former Premier League goalkeeper Shay Given praised the talents of Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze after Fulham faced Brentford in a goalless draw on Saturday.
Chukwueze, currently on loan at Fulham from AC Milan, entered the match just before halftime. He replaced compatriot Alex Iwobi, who left the pitch due to a suspected hamstring injury.
During a segment on Premier League Productions, Given highlighted Chukwueze’s offensive skills and expressed optimism about his potential impact in the second half.
“Chukwueze has entered the game. I like him; he is a genuinely attacking player. You can expect to see some exciting link-up play in the second half,” Given noted. He added, “At the very least, a bit of excitement is needed because the first half has been quite lackluster. Keane Lewis-Potter had a significant opportunity just before halftime to give Brentford the advantage but failed to capitalize.”
Despite Chukwueze’s arrival, Fulham was unable to secure a goal, settling for a draw as they sought to rebound from a recent defeat to Liverpool.
Since joining Fulham, the Nigerian international has made a notable impact, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 19 league appearances. Chukwueze’s performances have prompted the club to consider a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
