NPFL: Deutsch satisfied with Enyimba’s performance in defeat to Rangers

Enyimba Falls to Rangers in Oriental Derby
ENUGU, Nigeria — Enyimba’s technical adviser, Emmanuel Deutsch, addressed his team’s defeat in a closely contested match against Rangers on Sunday night. The People’s Elephant fell 2-1 at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Enyimba initially took the lead with a goal from Wonah Williams in the 44th minute. However, the tide turned in the second half as Rangers rallied, with Chidozie Iwundu and Ifeanyi Onyebuchi each scoring to secure the victory.
Deutsch noted that while losing a derby is never ideal, the match had its positive aspects. “Losing such a derby game away isn’t that bad. It wasn’t a bad game; we scored the first goal, they equalized, and then scored the second. They needed the victory the way we needed,” he said, as reported by NPFL media.
Following the win, Rangers reclaimed the top position in the league standings, while Enyimba dropped to 13th place.
