You can count on Biafra – Nnamdi Kanu sends a message to the former US mayor

Nnamdi Kanu Thanks Supporter for Advocacy in His Case

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has expressed his appreciation to former Blanco, Texas, Mayor Mike Arnold for his support amid ongoing legal challenges in Nigeria.

Kanu’s legal consultant, Aloy Ejimakor, shared the message on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday. Arnold has publicly criticized the Nigerian government for incarcerating Kanu while allowing an imam who offered a bounty for a pastor’s assassination to remain free.

In his message, Kanu thanked Arnold for “shedding light on the truth” regarding his situation and the IPOB movement, emphasizing the importance of his support. He commended Arnold’s dedication to speaking out and reflected on how earlier advocacy from more individuals might have changed the course of events.

“Dear Mike, I am writing to acknowledge your remarkable effort in shedding light on the truth about me and my people. Your commitment to the truth is commendable,” Kanu wrote. “You can count on the support of the Indigenous People of Biafra and myself. May Elohim guide and protect you always. Thank you.”

In November 2025, Kanu was sentenced to life in prison on charges related to terrorism.
