Troops neutralise terrorists, secure Boko Haram surrender in North-East

Joint Task Force Neutralizes Terrorists in Ongoing Operations

Troops from the Joint Task Force (North East), under Operation HADIN KAI, have reported significant progress in their efforts against terrorist activities, with several terrorists neutralized, suspects arrested, and one member of the group surrendering.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the Media Information Officer for the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), confirmed these developments in an official statement. The successful operations were attributed to collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

In recent engagements, OPHK troops confronted terrorists moving from Yale toward the Sambisa Forest area, successfully neutralizing four individuals. The operation also yielded the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and food items believed to support terrorist logistics.

Further, ongoing operations across critical routes—including Dambboa-Maiduguri, Dambboa-Gwoza, and Goniri—have effectively restricted the movement and activities of terrorists.

In a separate incident, two suspected terrorist collaborators were apprehended during a stop-and-search operation in Kanama. Authorities discovered items, including clothing and personal effects, that may be linked to terrorist support operations. Preliminary investigations have uncovered incriminating digital materials suggesting a connection to terrorist factions. The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.

Additionally, OPHK troops reported the surrender of a suspected member of Boko Haram/ISWAP at a checkpoint in Kukawa Local Government Area. The individual claimed to have been abducted earlier this year and coerced into joining the group. He is presently undergoing profiling and further investigation.

These developments come as part of the ongoing efforts by the Joint Task Force and allied units to combat terrorism in the region.
