UCL: Darren Bent identifies Arsenal player Arteta will drop against Atletico Madrid

Arsenal Likely to Modify Starting XI for Champions League Clash, Bent Suggests

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa forward Darren Bent has predicted that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta may drop Myles Lewis-Skelly from the starting lineup for the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

During an appearance on Premier League Live, Bent recommended that Martin Zubimendi should replace Lewis-Skelly in the starting XI. This speculation follows Arteta’s recent decision to field Lewis-Skelly over Zubimendi during a Premier League match against Fulham on Saturday.

“Bent noted that Zubimendi will likely return to the starting squad because of his experience. He stated, ‘Zubimendi will probably come back in because he is the more senior player.'”

Bent also emphasized the importance of Lewis-Skelly’s performance against Fulham, suggesting that Arteta might reconsider the younger player’s role if the game against Atletico does not unfold as planned. “The manager will have no doubts whatsoever if things are not quite working,” Bent said.
