Palestinian Ministry Condemns Israeli Display at Hebron Mosque
The Palestinian Ministry of Religious Affairs has decried Israel’s recent illumination of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, which was bathed in colors of the Israeli flag. Officials characterized the display as a “blatant assault” on the sanctity of the site, which is revered by both Muslims and Jews.
The lighting event took place during a ceremony marking the anniversary of Israel’s occupation in 1967. Hebrew slogans were projected onto the mosque, also referred to as the Cave of the Patriarchs by Jewish tradition.
Reactions continue to unfold in response to the incident, highlighting tensions surrounding religious sites in the region.
