‘I was hot-headed, thought I was best in music industry’ – Sarz

Record Producer Sarz Reflects on Early Ego and Industry Collaboration
In a recent interview with The Fadar, Osabuohien Osaretin, widely known as Sarz, candidly discussed how his early overconfidence hindered his ability to collaborate with peers in the music industry.
The 37-year-old producer and musician admitted that he initially approached his career with a “hot-headed” attitude, believing himself to be superior to many of his colleagues. “When I started making music, I really wanted to impress everybody. I thought I was the best thing to exist in music,” Sarz said.
Over time, he acknowledged that this mindset was limiting. “But now I understand that I don’t know it all. I’m always willing to learn from anyone—even someone who just started yesterday,” he added.
Sarz’s evolution in perspective has opened the door for collaboration across the industry, allowing him to learn from both established artists and newcomers alike.
