Ekiti Guber: Isaac Fayose alerts EFCC over alleged plot to buy votes

Ekiti State Gubernatorial Election: Allegations of Vote Buying by APC Surface
Ahead of the gubernatorial election in Ekiti State scheduled for Saturday, Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former governor Ayo Fayose, has raised concerns regarding alleged plans by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to engage in vote buying.
In a video posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday, Isaac Fayose claimed to possess credible information indicating that the APC intends to financially induce voters during the election.
He urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to be vigilant and take action against those involved in the purported vote-buying scheme.
Fayose expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of the electoral system in Nigeria, arguing that it hinders the emergence of competent leaders. “Nigeria is not developing because our electoral system is faulty,” he stated. “Popular candidates are often sidelined in favor of those who manipulate the process.”
He further emphasized the importance of electoral integrity, saying, “If our votes can’t put the best candidates in power, it indicates a serious problem.” Fayose also remarked on the role of the EFCC, adding, “We will see on Saturday whether the EFCC is effective or not.”
He concluded with a call to action for the EFCC, stating, “We have credible information that these people are planning to buy votes. Nigerians are watching; the EFCC now has an office in Ekiti State.”
