Sergeant Awuse is the political bulldozer of Rivers State – Wike

Minister Honors Traditional Ruler at Court Opening Ceremony
ABUJA — Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, recognized Eze Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse, the paramount ruler of Emohua Kingdom, as a significant figure in the political landscape of Rivers State during a recent event in Abuja.
Wike made his remarks Wednesday at the commissioning of the Federal High Court Judges’ Quarters. He described Awuse as the “political bulldozer” of Rivers State, highlighting the monarch’s impact on his own political upbringing.
“I acknowledge those who laid the foundation for some of us to climb to where we are today,” Wike stated.
He noted, however, that Awuse has since stepped away from the political arena to embrace his role as a traditional leader. “Although he has abandoned politics, he is still a force in our community,” Wike added.
The minister referred to Awuse’s nickname, saying, “They call him Sergeant, but where he got the name from, I do not know.”
