FCT: Only Wike’s enemies won’t see his works – Akpabio
Senate President Akpabio Lauds FCT Minister Wike’s Achievements
Senate President Godswill Akpabio commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his contributions to the capital during a project commissioning event on Wednesday. The ceremony highlighted the completion of an interchange linking Jahi District to Gwarimpa District and is part of ongoing celebrations marking President Bola Tinubu’s third year in office.
Akpabio asserted that only Wike’s adversaries would fail to recognize his accomplishments while serving as Minister. “You have turned the FCT around,” he said, noting the significant improvements in administration and personnel structure within the territory.
During his remarks, Akpabio contrasted Wike’s tenure as governor of Rivers State with his current role. “It is difficult to compare your past miracles in Rivers State with what you have achieved as Minister,” he stated.
He also highlighted notable changes in the FCT’s governance, including the establishment of positions such as Permanent Secretaries and a Head of Service, which had not existed under previous administrations.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, with President Tinubu represented by Akpabio, who expressed pride in Wike’s leadership and the progress made in the FCT. “The country is proud of you,” Akpabio concluded.
