Kano Police Arrest Notorious Suspect Linked to Thuggery
KANO, Nigeria — Auwalu Ali, also known as Auwalu Dan Daba, has been arrested by the Kano State Police Command for his alleged involvement in organized thuggery and violent acts against residents.
According to a statement from police spokesman Abdullahi Jigawa, the 26-year-old was apprehended on January 31 by operatives from the Dorayi Division following credible intelligence regarding his activities.
The police believe that Ali was responsible for coordinating groups that attacked and robbed members of the public in various areas of Kano.
In a separate incident, officers from the Sharada Division responded to a distress call in Sharada Quarters, where a mob fatally attacked a suspected armed robber following an incident that left a woman seriously injured.
The injured woman was transported to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano, where a police officer voluntarily donated blood to aid her recovery.
Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, commended the officers for their professionalism and sacrifice, particularly praising the officer who provided blood. He also expressed gratitude to the citizens of Kano State for their ongoing support and cooperation.
The police command urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities while cautioning against mob justice.
