World Cup: Tuchel reacts as FIFA approves Argentina’s ‘special request’ for England clash
England Manager Responds to Argentina’s Uniform Request Ahead of World Cup Semi-Final
England manager Thomas Tuchel addressed Argentina’s recent request to wear navy blue during the upcoming World Cup semi-final. He expressed indifference regarding the matter, indicating that such decisions often stem from superstitions about team attire.
“If Argentina plays in blue and we’re in white, is that based on superstition or a lucky shirt? They made that choice,” Tuchel said. “I would have done the same if there was any superstition involved.”
Throughout the tournament, Argentina has predominantly worn their traditional light blue and white kits, with the exception of a group-stage match against Jordan, where they donned the darker shade.
The world champions’ request was formally submitted to FIFA and subsequently approved, allowing them to make the change for the match against England.
