Chelsea Sets £70 Million Asking Price for Pedro Neto Amid Manchester City Interest
Chelsea Football Club has established a £70 million asking price for winger Pedro Neto as Manchester City expresses significant interest this summer.
Neto, 26, emerged as a key target for City after a season in which he netted five goals and provided six assists, helping Chelsea navigate a challenging Premier League campaign. Since joining Chelsea in 2024 for a reported £51 million, Neto has contributed to the club’s successes in both the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup.
This past weekend, Neto was seen boarding a flight to Hong Kong as he joins Xabi Alonso’s squad for a pre-season friendly against Juventus scheduled for Wednesday.
According to reports from The Sun, however, Neto’s future at Chelsea may be uncertain, as Manchester City is preparing to submit a substantial offer for the Portuguese international. City’s head coach, Enzo Maresca, has reportedly played a significant role in Chelsea’s potential decision to part with Neto, having previously worked with him during his 18-month tenure at Stamford Bridge.
Additionally, City may face competition from AC Milan. The Serie A club has made Neto a priority on its list of potential wingers, especially in light of the possible departure of Rafael Leão. A deal may be reached if an offer near £70 million is made before the transfer deadline.
While Chelsea views Neto as an integral part of their lineup and locker room dynamics, they recognize that a substantial offer could alter their position on his future with the club.
Neto’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has also presented options to Al-Hilal, but Neto has expressed reservations about moving to the Saudi Pro League, preferring to continue competing at the highest level.
Though a starting position is not guaranteed at Manchester City, Neto is reported to be receptive to the opportunity to leave Chelsea for the Etihad Stadium. His current contract with Chelsea is set to run until June 2031.
