Transfer: Charlton Athletic, Bolton Wanderers battle for Okonkwo

Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers are reportedly interested in acquiring Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, according to a report by Daily Post.
Okonkwo’s status with Wrexham has become uncertain following the recent signing of Anthony Patterson from Sunderland, who is expected to take on the role of first-choice goalkeeper for the club.
Sports Illustrated indicates that Okonkwo is likely to depart Wrexham before the current transfer window closes. The 24-year-old goalkeeper initially joined Wrexham on loan from Arsenal in 2023.
During his tenure at Wrexham, Okonkwo has made 108 league appearances over the past three seasons, with 39 of those occurring last season alone. He has one year remaining on his contract with the club and has been capped twice by the Nigeria national team.
