Premier League gives update on Man City’s 115 charges
Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters provided an update regarding the ongoing investigation into Manchester City, which faces 115 charges of alleged financial misconduct.
In comments reported by BBC Sport, Masters acknowledged that the resolution of the case is taking longer than anticipated. He emphasized the importance of adhering to due process as the review continues.
“I cannot offer any significant new information today,” Masters stated. “I recognize that the situation is taking longer than expected, and I understand that people are eager to know what’s happening. However, I am unable to provide that information at this time.”
Masters reiterated that the established rules must be followed, noting, “There is only one clear path forward, which is to allow the process to reach its natural conclusion. It is a highly complex matter. The hearing lasted 12 weeks, contributing to the extended timeline.”
Manchester City is currently awaiting the outcome of the charges, which relate to alleged violations that occurred between 2009 and 2018.
