Two Killed in Attack in Kano State

BEBEJI, Kano – Alhaji Garba Buba, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman of Rantan Ward, was shot dead on Sunday night by suspected bandits in the Rantan community of Bebeji Local Government Area. A second victim, Sulaiman Zunduma, was also killed during the attack.

Witnesses reported that the assailants opened fire in the community, leading to injuries that resulted in Buba’s death at a local hospital shortly after the shooting. “They shot Alhaji Garba Buba, who later died in hospital from the injuries sustained,” said a resident, who requested anonymity.

In addition to Buba’s death, another community member, Alhaji Sa’adu, was reportedly shot but survived the attack.

Hafsat Garba Rantan, a family member of Buba, confirmed his death, describing him as her paternal uncle.

The violence followed a separate incident the previous night in Chiromawa community, where gunmen abducted Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa, the Sarkin Noman Jihar Kano. Reports indicated that three people were killed during the attack in Chiromawa, which occurred around 11 p.m. on Saturday.
