OdumoduBlvck’s lawyers petition police over alleged arrest attempt

Lawyers representing Nigerian musician Tochukwu Gubemi Ojogwu, known as OdumoduBlvck, have submitted a petition to the Lagos State Police Command regarding an alleged attempt to arrest the artist. The incident reportedly occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on August 29, 2026.

The petition, filed on August 31, was prepared by Marshal Attorneys and addressed to the Assistant Commissioner of Police within the State Criminal Investigation Department. In their correspondence, the lawyers claimed that the police action was taken despite their prior response to a police invitation issued to Ojogwu. They noted that the matter is currently under review by the Inspector General of Police’s office, which is handling the situation through its Monitoring Unit.

Additionally, the legal team highlighted that a related case is ongoing in an Abuja Magistrate Court and asserted that the police investigation should not proceed independently while the issue is still before the court.

In their petition, the lawyers stated, “On the 29th of August, 2026, at about 3:00 a.m., officers of the Nigerian Police Force purportedly acting on your Command swooped on our Client with an invitation letter purportedly issued by your good self.” They emphasized that this action occurred despite a previous denial of the invitation’s authorship from one of their associates.

The legal representatives requested that the Assistant Commissioner of Police conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. They urged the police to defer to the Inspector General of Police’s office, which they indicated is already addressing the matter.
