All Tinubu projects in FCT will be completed before tenure expires – Wike
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has assured that all projects initiated under President Bola Tinubu’s administration in Abuja will be completed before the end of the administration’s term. Wike made this statement during a recent media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he asserted that the achievements of the Tinubu administration in Abuja surpass those of any prior government in the FCT’s history.
“Before this tenure expires, every project started under Bola Tinubu will have been completed,” Wike said. He invited critics to compare the current administration’s performance with that of its predecessors.
Wike further claimed, “No government in the history of the FCT has done what we have done in Abuja. I challenge anyone to come forward.”
In his remarks, the minister also criticized the recent Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference, calling it a failure. He contended that the organization’s leadership prioritized political activities over critical issues faced by the legal profession.
“Instead of concentrating on the matters impacting the NBA, they started playing politics,” Wike said. He raised concerns about the legacy of the current NBA president, whom he suggested he had previously not supported.
Wike expressed disapproval over the decision to invite a former governor, whom he accused of judicial obstruction, to the NBA event. “I will tell the NBA president: what would you say will be your legacy? As the Minister of the FCT, what would I say I have done?” he questioned.
He added, “I told the current NBA president why I did not support her. She invited a former governor who chained and locked up the court for almost two years. When you see this kind of thing, you begin to wonder, what kind of NBA is this?”
