Lagos: Opebi Link Bridge to open by September end – Sanwo-Olu
LAGOS, Nigeria — Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced Thursday that the Opebi Link Bridge in Lagos State is set to open to motorists by the end of September 2026.
Speaking as the keynote guest at the 7th Annual Lecture organized by Freedom Online Newspapers, Sanwo-Olu emphasized that construction on the bridge is nearing completion, with workers applying the finishing touches.
The governor also revealed that plans are in place to incorporate an architectural feature into the bridge to enhance its aesthetic appeal and establish it as a potential tourist destination.
“I want to assure you that the Opebi Link Bridge will be opened by the end of September. We are trying to install the ark on the bridge. We want to make it a tourist attraction,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
Once operational, the Opebi Link Bridge is expected to improve connectivity between Opebi and surrounding areas, alleviating traffic congestion along the corridor. The project aims to facilitate smoother movement for motorists and residents who depend on this route.
