Gov Lawal appoints new Head of Service in Zamfara
ZAMFARA, Nigeria — Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has officially appointed Shehu Baraya as the new Head of the State’s Civil Service, effective immediately, according to a statement from Secretary to the State Government Abubakar Nakwada.
The announcement was communicated by Suleman Ahmad Tudu, Senior Special Assistant for Media in the Office of the Secretary.
Baraya succeeds Yakubu Haidara, who has recently retired from the state civil service. With a distinguished career as a civil servant, Baraya brings extensive experience in public administration and has held the position of Permanent Secretary in multiple ministries. Prior to this appointment, he was the Permanent Secretary of the Zamfara State Civil Service Commission.
Governor Lawal expressed gratitude to Haidara for his dedicated service and significant contributions to the development of the state’s civil service, wishing him well in his future endeavors.
In his remarks, the governor urged Baraya to leverage his experience to enhance professionalism, discipline, productivity, and efficiency within the civil service, aligning these efforts with the administration’s Rescue Agenda.
