Troops Arrest Two Suspected Terrorist Suppliers in Yobe State
YOBE, Nigeria — Forces from the Joint Task Force (North East), operating under the framework of Operation HADIN KAI, apprehended two individuals believed to be logistics suppliers for Boko Haram/ISWAP. The operation also led to the recovery of a significant cache of motorcycle spare parts intended for use by the insurgents in the Yunusari-Mobbar area.
Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, confirmed the arrests in a statement released Wednesday morning. The operation took place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, following reliable intelligence regarding the movement of supplies earmarked for terrorist groups.
According to the statement, troops from the 159 Battalion, in collaboration with other security personnel, executed a patrol that intercepted the logistics shipment at Gumsa Bridge in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Recovered items included numerous motorcycle tyres, crankshafts, oil seals, traffic indicators, and various other crucial components such as acceleration and clutch cables, bearings, brake parts, gaskets, piston kits, chains, and sprockets. Additional finds comprised speedometers, clutch plates, rocker arms, CDI units, coils, rectifiers, fuel system components, 145 pairs of footwear, and two Tecno Android phones.
The suspects and the seized items have been transferred to the 27 Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
This operation underscores the ongoing efforts of the Joint Task Force to disrupt logistical networks that sustain terrorism in the region. The military unit reiterated its commitment to dismantling such support systems across the North-East.
