Super Eagles Announce Starting Lineup for AFCON Qualifier Against Madagascar
Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has unveiled his starting lineup for Nigeria’s opening match in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Madagascar, set to take place tonight.
Stanley Nwabali will assume the goalkeeper position, with Ola Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi serving as the full-backs. In central defense, Chelle has chosen the experienced pair of Semi Ajayi and Calvin Bassey.
Captain Wilfred Ndidi will anchor the midfield alongside Alex Iwobi, who plays for Fulham.
Up front, newcomer George Ilenikhena is set to make his first start for the Super Eagles, partnering with Akor Adams. Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze will provide width and support in the attack.
