Russia vs Nigeria: 7 Super Eagles players to miss friendly

At least seven players from the Super Eagles will not participate in the upcoming international friendly against Russia scheduled for Tuesday. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced the absences are due to a combination of injuries, club refusals, and residency permit issues.
Captain Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, Moses Usor, Akpe Victory, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Ridwan Abdulrasaq Popoola, and Suleiman Mubarak are the players affected.
Ndidi sustained an injury during last week’s AFCON 2027 qualifier against Guinea-Bissau, while Victory was also withdrawn from the squad due to injury. Vince Osuji has been called up as a replacement for Victory, and Reims midfielder John Otomewo will replace Ndidi.
The other players who will miss the match, including Onyedika (Eintracht Frankfurt), Osayi-Samuel (Birmingham City), Popoola (Al-Wasl), and Usor (LASK), have been prevented from traveling by their respective clubs.
