2028 Olympics Qualifier: Eguavoen lauds Super Falcons’ win over Comoros

Super Falcons Secure 2-0 Victory Against Comoros in Olympic Qualifiers
Interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen expressed confidence in the Super Falcons following their 2-0 win over Comoros in the first leg of the 2028 Olympic Games second qualifying round on Friday.
The ten-time African champions scored both goals in the second half, with Michelle Alozie and Uchenna Kanu finding the net for Nigeria.
Eguavoen admitted feeling anxious during the halftime break, as the match remained goalless at that point. “I was nervous at the start because it’s an away game. A draw away from home would be acceptable, but considering our pedigree and the quality we have, the first half being barren was worrisome,” he said during the post-match briefing.
The Super Falcons will look to secure their qualification in the reverse fixture, scheduled for Tuesday at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
