Troops neutralise suspected terrorist, recover AK-47 in Sokoto
Troops stationed at Forward Operating Base Binji neutralized a suspected terrorist and seized an AK-47 rifle along with a magazine containing 27 rounds of ammunition during an operation in Sokoto State.
The engagement occurred following a distress call regarding the presence of suspected terrorists in Soruro village, located in the Tangaza area, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Monday, October 12, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama.
Troops responded to the alert and made contact with the individuals at around 5:00 a.m. One suspected terrorist was neutralized during the encounter, and the recovered items included the AK-47 rifle and the ammunition.
