Lagos Bus Accident Claims No Lives, Injures Several
LAGOS — A four-year-old child, his mother, and 12 other passengers narrowly avoided tragedy Wednesday when a fully loaded Mazda commercial bus overturned on Coaster Road, near Lafiaji, heading toward Okun Ajah.
Witnesses reported that the bus somersaulted before coming to a rest on its side, trapping several passengers inside the wreckage. Bystanders described the survival of the young boy, his mother, and other occupants as remarkable.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) responded promptly, deploying officials to the scene to assist in rescuing the victims and coordinating medical response efforts. The child, his mother, and two other injured passengers were transported to Mother and Child Hospital in Abraham Adesanya, while additional passengers received treatment at nearby facilities with help from Good Samaritans.
