Taraba State Governor Swears in New Judicial Officers and Special Advisers
JALINGO, Taraba State — Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas presided over a swearing-in ceremony Wednesday for a new High Court Judge, two Khadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal, and newly appointed Special Advisers. The event also included the inauguration of members of the Persons Living with Disabilities Commission.
The ceremony was held at the Executive Chamber of the TY Danjuma House and was attended by senior government officials, judicial members, political stakeholders, traditional leaders, and other dignitaries from across the state.
Among those sworn in were Justice Mansura Bargami as the Judge of the High Court, along with Khadi Aliyu Yaya Abubakar and Khadi Yakubu Mohammed as Khadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal.
In his address, Governor Kefas highlighted the significance of the event as a key moment in his administration’s efforts to bolster the judiciary, enhance governance, and promote inclusivity within Taraba State. He emphasized the importance of a strong and independent judiciary as essential to democracy.
The governor urged the newly appointed judicial officers to uphold principles of justice, fairness, and integrity in their roles, stressing that public faith in the legal system relies on their commitment to the rule of law.
Additionally, Governor Kefas administered the oath of office to the new Special Advisers, encouraging them to use their skills and experience to further the administration’s development goals. He noted that their appointments were merit-based and aimed at improving citizens’ lives.
Regarding the inauguration of the Persons Living with Disabilities Commission, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to providing equal opportunities and implementing inclusive policies for individuals with disabilities in the state.
