EPL: The pressure is on Man City now – Merson reacts to Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Fulham

Manchester City Under Pressure After Arsenal’s Victory
Arsenal solidified its position atop the Premier League with a decisive 3-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday, putting pressure squarely on Manchester City. Former England midfielder Paul Merson commented on the situation during a segment on Sky Sports.
Viktor Gyokeres scored twice, and Bukayo Saka contributed another goal, allowing Arsenal to extend its lead over Manchester City to six points. City, managed by Pep Guardiola, will play against Everton on Monday night, as they seek to catch up to their London rivals.
Merson noted the significance of Arsenal’s recent performance, especially following their disappointing result against Bournemouth. He expressed admiration for the team’s resilience, stating, “Fair play to Arsenal. After that absolute nightmare against Bournemouth, to bounce back the way they have to get these two results is massive.”
He also reflected on the expectations for Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta: “In his wildest dreams last night, laying in bed, Arteta couldn’t have dreamt that tonight’s performance.”
As the title race heats up, Manchester City’s upcoming matches will determine their response to the challenging position they now find themselves in.
