The crash involved a Toyota Hiace commercial vehicle and a Suzuki mini-bus, commonly referred to as Korope, as they traveled toward the Akure direction.

Agnes Ogungbemi, the Osun Sector Public Education Officer for the Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed the incident in a statement released to the media on Friday.

According to Ogungbemi, “Four people died while ten others sustained injuries. Three of the victims, including two adult males and a female child, died instantly at the scene. Another passenger succumbed to injuries the following morning. The bodies have been transported to Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesa.”

She noted that the injured comprised seven adults and three children, adding that the driver of the mini-bus was operating without a valid driver’s license.
