Benfica Manager Jose Mourinho in Advanced Talks to Return to Real Madrid
Jose Mourinho, the current manager of Benfica, is in the final stages of negotiations to rejoin Real Madrid, sources confirm.
Mourinho is expected to take the helm at the Bernabeu for the upcoming season. Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Twitter Wednesday that the deal is progressing well and will require final approval from Madrid president Florentino Perez.

Romano stated, “José Mourinho’s return to Real Madrid now advancing to the final stages. Talks are progressing well. Final approval from Florentino Pérez is still needed, and it is likely they will wait until the elections… but Mourinho is ready, and talks have been productive.”
Mourinho would succeed Alvaro Arbeloa, who has been serving as interim manager since Xabi Alonso’s dismissal in January.
