NFF set to organise CAF A, B, license, refresher courses
Nigeria Football Federation Announces Coaching Courses for National League Coaches
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has finalized plans for coaching courses sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), aimed at enhancing the qualifications of coaches within the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and other elite divisions.
The CAF B-License refresher course is scheduled to take place from June 20 to June 24, 2026. Following this, the CAF A-License course will be conducted over six modules, spanning seven months, beginning on August 2, 2026, and concluding on February 7, 2027. These initiatives provide coaches in the NPFL and Nigeria National League (NNL) with a pathway to attain continental standards.
“This is part of the NFF’s strategic effort to build the capacity of coaches across the country,” said Augustine Eguavoen, the NFF’s Technical Director.
Recently, Nigeria was readmitted to the CAF A-License program after a nine-year absence. Eligible applicants for the courses include active coaches engaged in the NPFL, NNL, Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL), National League One (NLO), as well as those coaching national teams.
Eligibility requirements mandate candidates to possess a CAF B diploma, demonstrate proficiency in English, be computer literate, and have access to a laptop or tablet. Additionally, applicants must submit a medical certificate, curriculum vitae, and a reference letter.
Following the successful completion of pre-assessment tests and the B-License refresher course, 25 coaches will receive a CAF CMS link to commence the A-License program.
