Osun: Police investigate death of woman found in church premises

The Osun State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of an unidentified woman whose body was found on the grounds of a church in the Obelewo area of Osogbo. The woman was discovered with her left wrist severed, and it is believed that the missing body part was taken by unknown individuals.
In a statement released on Sunday, Force Public Relations Officer Ani Iniedu confirmed that police detectives visited the scene after the discovery was reported. Preliminary findings suggest that the woman had been killed and that her left wrist had been removed from the scene.
“The investigations revealed that the deceased was slaughtered and her left wrist severed and taken away by unknown persons,” Iniedu stated.
At this time, police officials have not yet identified the deceased or determined the motive behind her death. Investigators are working to establish her identity and gather more evidence to piece together the circumstances of the incident.
“The corpse was deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy,” Iniedu added.
The State Command’s Investigation Department has assumed control of the case and is actively pursuing leads to identify those responsible and uncover the motives for the killing.
