Man Arrested for Alleged Fatal Assault on Father in Ondo State

A 38-year-old man has been arrested in Ondo State on charges of beating his 65-year-old father to death. The suspect, Kingsley Nsikak, was taken into custody following a violent altercation with his father, Peter Adone, at their home in the Oda area of the state.

According to Abayomi Jimoh, the Police Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred during an argument that escalated into physical violence on May 28, 2026. Adone sustained severe injuries and later died despite medical efforts to save him.

Jimoh reported that a formal complaint was filed by Daniel Moses, a brother to the suspect and son of the deceased, prompting police investigations. Officers responded quickly and apprehended Nsikak for questioning.

The body of Peter Adone has been moved to a morgue as investigations continue. Police officials indicated that the suspect would face charges in court once their investigation is complete. The event has raised significant concern within the Oda community in the Akure South Local Government Area.
