Bauchi Police Arrest Suspect in Tricycle Theft Case
Bauchi, Nigeria — The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man, identified as Sirajo, in connection with the alleged theft of a tricycle in the Bauchi metropolis.
The arrest followed a report of the stolen tricycle made to the A Division Township Police Station on Monday, September 7, 2026. Detectives from the division promptly initiated an investigation, which led to Sirajo’s apprehension.
According to police spokesman SP Nafiu Habib, the suspect confessed during interrogation and guided detectives to Dumi bush, where the stolen tricycle had been dismantled. Police recovered several parts of the tricycle, which were transported to the station for reassembly. Only the tarpaulin was found missing, and efforts are underway to identify and locate the vehicle’s rightful owner.
Habib indicated that the suspect will be charged in court once the investigation is complete.
Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu praised the officers for their swift response and urged the public to remain vigilant, encouraging residents to report any suspicious activities to the police.
