Celtic Tops Motherwell with Late Penalty

Celtic secured a dramatic victory against Motherwell on Wednesday night, with Kelechi Iheanacho converting a penalty in the final moments of the match.

The Scottish Premier League clash appeared destined to conclude in a 2-2 draw until a handball in the box led to the visitors being awarded a spot-kick.

Elliot Watt opened the scoring for Motherwell, putting the defending champions on alert. However, Daizen Maeda equalized just before halftime, sending the teams into the break level.

In the second half, Motherwell regained the lead through a powerful strike from Benjamin Nygren. Yet, Celtic responded again, as Liam Gordon’s goal brought the score to 2-2.

As the league heads into its final round of matches, Hearts lead the standings with 70 points, followed closely by Rangers at 69 points. Celtic currently sits in third place with 67 points.
