Millwall winger Femi Azeez has officially declared his intention to represent Nigeria at the international level, according to reports from DAILY POST.
Born in England to a Nigerian father and a Spanish mother, the 24-year-old Azeez is eligible to compete for the national teams of all three countries. However, he has chosen to join Nigeria’s Super Eagles following discussions with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), as reported by Footmercato.net.
Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has indicated plans to seek out Nigerian-born players in Europe as the team prepares for the upcoming 2026 Unity Cup. Azeez is anticipated to be included in the Super Eagles squad for the friendly invitational tournament.
This season, Azeez has made a significant impact at Millwall, recording nine goals and eight assists in 34 league appearances. His performance earned him a spot in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season.
