Tinubu’s moles in SDP should prepare for generational consequences – Adewole Adebayo warns

Former SDP Presidential Candidate Alleges Presence of Government Moles in Party
Former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, raised concerns on Thursday about the infiltration of government-backed operatives within the party.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s “Hard Copy,” Adebayo suggested that such tactics are not unique to the current administration under President Bola Tinubu, citing similar practices from previous administrations, including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
“It’s a standard practice for the ruling party,” Adebayo said, referencing the historical context of political interference in Nigeria. “Moles will always be there, and the most important thing is for you to show leadership and encourage the people to understand that transactional politics exists.”
Adebayo cautioned party members about the risks associated with collaborating with government agents for short-term gains, stating that the repercussions could be generational. He emphasized the need for political engagement focused on long-term solutions rather than immediate gratification.
“Nigeria has no room for drama because we are facing existential challenges,” Adebayo added. “If you have a role to play in politics, it should aim for the best results.”
He also addressed economic concerns, noting that inequality fuels discontent. “A hungry person in the Southwest is an angry person,” he said, drawing attention to the broader implications of rising costs, such as fuel prices, which strain families’ finances.
