Troops Arrest Three Suspects Following Farmer’s Death in Plateau State
Troops from Sector 6 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) arrested three individuals in Plateau State on September 13, 2026, in connection with the death of a farmer in the Riyom Local Government Area.
The arrests took place during a raid on the Baggat and Shong 2 Fulani hamlets within the Bachi community. This operation followed a manhunt for those responsible for the farmer’s death reported in the Fang community on September 12.

The suspects have been identified as Anas Usman, Nuhu Mohammad, and Haruna Ahmed. Security analyst Zagazola Makama stated that while the three men are not necessarily the direct perpetrators of the crime, their detention is part of a broader strategy to encourage local Fulani leaders to cooperate with security forces in identifying the individuals responsible for the killing.
The suspects remain in custody as authorities conduct further investigations and gather intelligence on the case.
