Troops rescue three kidnap victims after terrorist attack in Zamfara

Troops from Sector 2, participating in Operation FANSAN YAMMA, rescued three individuals who were kidnapped following a terrorist attack on a commercial vehicle along the Anka-Gummi road in Zamfara State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported on X that the rescue transpired after the troops, conducting routine patrols in the Anka Local Government Area, were alerted to the attack. Upon receiving the information, they promptly moved to the scene and engaged with the assailants.
During the encounter, the terrorists retreated into the nearby area, leaving behind their captives. The soldiers successfully rescued the three victims and also recovered a handheld communication radio, which was reportedly left by the fleeing attackers.
