U-20 WWCQ: Aduku targets big margin win over Malawi

Falconets Prepare for Crucial Match Against Malawi in U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier

The Falconets’ head coach, Moses Aduku, is focused on achieving a decisive victory against Malawi in the first leg of their qualifying match for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The match is set for Saturday at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

Nigeria advanced to this stage after defeating Senegal 3-1 on aggregate in the previous round. Meanwhile, Malawi secured their place by achieving a 6-2 aggregate victory over Guinea Bissau.

The team that triumphs over the two legs will qualify for the World Cup, which will take place in Poland in September.

Aduku emphasized the importance of a strong performance in the first leg to ease the pressure for the second. “No two games are the same. Yes, they scored six goals in their last game. We analyzed that match to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and we will prepare accordingly,” Aduku said during a press conference in Ikenne.

The kickoff for the match is scheduled for 4 p.m. local time.
