World Cup: Thierry Henry names two outstanding England players after Argentina defeat

Arsenal Legend Applauds England’s Performances Despite Semi-Final Loss
ATLANTA — Thierry Henry, the former Arsenal star, praised two standout players from the England national team following their 2-1 defeat to Argentina in the World Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
Speaking to Fox Sports after the match, Henry commended Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane for their significant contributions against Argentina, which featured goals from Enzo Fernandez and Lautaro Martinez that ultimately secured the victory for the South American side.
“I just want to say, ‘Well done, England,’ because the way the match started, it didn’t look like it was going to be like this,” Henry remarked.
He specifically noted the exceptional performances of Bellingham and Kane, saying, “Bellingham was outstanding. Kane was outstanding. I mean, we can name those two because they were more of the guys who were scoring the goals.”
Henry acknowledged that, while England did not reach the final, the team showed considerable resilience. “Gordon scored tonight. Well done, England, seriously, because it didn’t look like it was going to be that way,” he added.
He encouraged the team to continue striving for success despite the setback. “I didn’t doubt it, but a lot of people were doubting it. You didn’t make the final, but carry on going,” he said.
