Nigerian Gospel Musician Reveals Father Missing for 26 Years
LAGOS, Nigeria — Prominent Zion Gospel musician Lekan Remilekun has disclosed that his father, Remilekun Amos, has been missing for the past 26 years. The revelation came during an interview on the “Talk to B” podcast.
Remilekun recounted that his father vanished in November 2000 after traveling to Akure, the capital of Ondo State, for a gospel ministry event. He expressed deep sorrow as he shared the impact of his father’s absence on his family.
In a poignant moment, the musician noted that his children frequently inquire about their grandfather. “My father was declared missing when he went for that missionary journey in November 2000, and that was the end,” he said. “A Yoruba proverb states, ‘A dead child is better than a missing or lost child.’ Now, 26 years have passed. No one can feel the pain more than the victim, which is me.”
The case of Remilekun Amos remains unresolved, adding to the ongoing anguish felt by his family.
