Ogun NDLEA secures 28-year jail term for drug trafficker
Three Drug Traffickers Convicted in Ogun State
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ogun State Command, has announced the conviction of three individuals for drug trafficking at the Federal High Court in Abeokuta.
According to a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASN Haris Musa, the convictions are part of an ongoing effort to combat drug-related crimes.
Fatokun Rahmon, 49, was sentenced to 28 years in prison after being found in possession of 347 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa at the time of his arrest on December 28, 2025.
In a separate case, 27-year-old Ogunnowo Wasiu received a 10-year sentence after being apprehended on April 24, 2026, with 210 grams of Cannabis Sativa and 1.6 grams of Methamphetamine.
Additionally, Jesutofumi Adeyemi was sentenced to 10 years after his arrest on November 2, 2022, when authorities discovered he had 3,523 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa.
Commander Tijjani Rabe, head of the Ogun State Command, described the convictions as a significant victory in the agency’s campaign against drug trafficking and organized crime. Rabe commended the dedication and professionalism of the officers involved in the investigations and prosecutions, stating that their efforts were crucial in delivering justice.
Rabe reaffirmed the commitment of the NDLEA to dismantle drug networks and ensure that offenders face the law. He also encouraged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to assist the agency in its fight against illicit drugs, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in maintaining safety.
“The Ogun State Command remains dedicated to reducing the supply and demand for illicit drugs and fostering secure communities across Ogun State,” the statement concluded.
