Pick Atiku first, I can’t apologise for calling you criminal – Sowore tells Tinubu

Sowore Refuses to Apologize to Tinubu, Calls for Accountability from Authorities

Activist and politician Omoyele Sowore stated he will not apologize to President Bola Tinubu for labeling him a criminal. Sowore made his comments during a press conference in Abuja on Monday.

He argued that authorities should first address statements made by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), who accused Sowore of being a forger and drug baron. “If they want me to apologize, let them first take action against Atiku,” he said.

Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), emphasized that it is President Tinubu who should apologize to the Nigerian people. “The reason they are charging me is that I refused to apologize to President Tinubu. For what? Did I apologize to Buhari?” he questioned.

He further criticized Tinubu’s qualifications for office, stating, “It is Tinubu that should be apologizing to Nigerians for presenting himself for an office that he’s not qualified for.” Sowore reiterated that the onus is on Tinubu to acknowledge his perceived lack of merit for the presidency.

“They say my crime is that I called him a criminal. Atiku called him a forger and a drug baron yesterday. Let them go and carry Atiku,” Sowore concluded.
