AFCON 2027 qualifiers: Chelle rates Stanley Nwabali’s performance after Madagascar win
Super Eagles Coach Eric Chelle praised goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali for his strong performance following Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Madagascar in an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier held Friday in Uyo.
The match saw Nigeria secure a win with goals scored by George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor. Nwabali made a pivotal save in the second half, a moment that did not go unnoticed by Chelle.
“Nwabali did well because they had a chance to score a goal, but Nwabali at this moment was very good,” Chelle said during the post-match press conference.
As Nigeria looks ahead to its next match against Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday, Nwabali will aim to maintain his position as the starting goalkeeper.
